This masters thesis critically analyzes the paper by David Egan Rule Following, Anxiety, and Authenticity (2021). Alba Ramírez Guijarro proposes a different approach, a dialogic interpretation of Wittgensteins rule-following considerations. Egan (2021) argues that there is a structural analogy between Wittgensteins Philosophical Investigations and Heideggers Being and Time one that Egan suggests affords a clear and, more importantly, non-skeptical understanding of both Wittgenstein and Heidegger. This masters thesis is structured as follows. Sections 1 and 2 present the analogy suggested by Egan. In section 3, the author of this masters thesis supports Egans anti-skeptic reading, but defends that anti-skepticism should be understood, rather than an objection to skepcism, as a complementary perspective that, through the notion of self-understanding, rejects the search for objective facts. Alba Ramírez Guijarro holds that skepticism is still alive and is compatible with anti-skepticism in both Wittgensteins and Heideggers approaches, because their works are written in the form of dialogue or open discourse that contain different voices.
